In this position within the Energy & Industrial Automation Strategy & Portfolio Innovation team, you will report to the Senior Manager, Strategy & Portfolio Innovation. Your primary responsibilities will include identifying and leading energy transition growth initiatives and new business opportunities. This will involve conducting market scans and identifying and analysing emerging opportunities and disruptive trends in the energy and industrial laboratory testing and certification business. You will also monitor global market intelligence, conduct in-depth market research and analysis, and manage the M&A and organic investment pipeline. Furthermore, you will play a key role in devising global growth strategy, long-range planning, new business development, and acquisitions within the Energy & Industrial Automation sectors.

  • Investigate and research the market to analyse and identify new growth opportunities in the energy transition and industrial automation sectors for testing, inspection, and certification services.

  • Use top-down and bottom-up research approaches and expert interviews to size and segment the markets.

  • Analyse market supply and demand forces to qualitatively and quantitively describe the growth drivers, competitors' strategies, and customer requirements.

  • Translate growth strategy to market share gain and annual incremental revenue projections.

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of investment opportunities in energy transition, both organic and inorganic.

  • Provide recommendations for strategic plans for the identified opportunities to pursue further.

  • A university degree (equivalent to a bachelor’s degree) in Business Administration, Science, Engineering, or Finance is required. An MBA or equivalent to a master's degree is preferred.

  • Ability to work within a complex and ambiguous environment.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects with large data sets related to various business challenges.

  • Ability to simplify complex ideas, visualise results, and translate statistical and analytical findings to various levels of management.

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

  • Investigative mindset, results-oriented with strong perseverance

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
