UL, LLC Laboratory Technician in Suzhou, China

  • Read standards, work instructions, instructions for measuring instruments, examines test samples and evaluate test results. Provide timely feedback to supervisor when abnormal test results occur. Ability to work autonomously within the scope of responsibilities. Tests include: flame test, voltage resistance test, mechanical test, environmental test, and temperature rise test.

  • Use and adjust test equipment appropriately according to operating instructions and project engineer's guidance.

  • Perform routine maintenance of assigned test equipment and laboratory areas.

  • Apply continuous improvement concepts and methods to daily work.

  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.

  • May perform basic calibration of test equipment.

  • Initiates recommendations for new equipment designs and recommends solutions to observed test problems.

  • Operates with minimal supervision within defined limits of responsibility.

  • Records observed or calculated data on appropriate UL forms and prepares data sheets and test reports.

  • Communicates with management and technical staff to provide suggestions for new equipment, processes, and forms to improve accuracy and efficiencies.

  • Other duties as directed.

  • Record test results, and fill data sheets and test reports. Be able to evaluate the test results, and provide comments and explanations upon request.

  • Use and adjust test equipment appropriately according to operating instructions and project engineer's guidance.

  • Apply continuous improvement concepts and methods to daily work.

  • Other duties as directed.

  • College degree or above, with science and engineering background.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Proven ability to be innovative and creative.

  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.

  • Good English reading skills.
