UL, LLC Quality Engineer/Auditor (m/w/d) - TIC in United Kingdom

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as primary contact responsible for engaging with Accreditors, Regulators and External Scheme Owners

  • Establish and maintain accreditation (inc. scope extensions and reductions)

  • Ensure a MS is compiled, implemented and adhered to

  • Ensure MS documentation inc. records is controlled

  • Provide and facilitate a CAPA process and work with CAPA Owners

  • Provide an internal audit process and execute on this

  • Have oversight of the MS and its structure

  • Know the key CAB personnel

  • Support capacity for improvements, management review, risks etc

  • Advise on and develop an accreditation strategy

  • Maintenance employee for ATLAS

Day to Day activities (examples):

  • Organise, plan and facilitate assessments

  • Act as the host for an (onsite) assessment; organise rooms, refreshments, personnel to be involved

  • Act as the main contact for Accreditors, Regulators and External Scheme Owners so all activities are channelled through and are known to AMS

  • Work with the COU to collect information regarding accreditor/regulator applications and act as signatory on the application (unless another function is designated to do this)

  • Support the CAB with internal and external assessments

  • Support/guide a process owner in document compilation

  • Own only controlled documents which are directly related to accreditation e.g. use of an accreditor symbol, the application process, accreditor schedule management

  • In respect of ISO 17065 and ISO 17025 the following are under the responsibility; internal audit; corrective actions; preventive actions.

All other areas are under the responsibility of other functions:

  • Own the internal audit process (and document(s))

  • Organise, plan and execute on internal audit schedule

  • Own the internal CAPA process (and document(s))

  • Oversee CAPA process and manage CAPAs accordingly by supporting CAPA owners

  • Network and collaborate with AMS and COU colleagues

  • Review and help identify best practices or areas for improvement

  • Participate and support management reviews and/or committee meetings

  • Review Merger & Acquisitions with a view to Management System integration

  • Preferred - University degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, or related field plus generally six years of directly related experience.

  • Detailed knowledge of quality management systems and process improvement principles, tools and techniques including quality and business excellence models (e.g., ISO 9001, 17025, 17065, Lean Sigma, Baldrige / Shingo).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of auditing and CAPA Principles.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct internal quality audits, root cause analysis and plan/implement corrective action.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, to interact with all levels of the organization, and to present and facilitate discussions of the findings.

  • Ability to lead improvement teams to develop mid-level to complex processes and process maps.
